Summary

PM-KISAN, PKVY, eNAM — every scheme you should be using as an organic farmer.

Why Most Farmers Miss Out

The Indian government runs over 40 schemes supporting farmers, yet awareness and uptake remain shockingly low. A progressive organic farmer who is aware of and utilises available schemes can access subsidies, training, certification support, and market linkages worth lakhs of rupees annually. This guide covers every major scheme relevant to organic farmers in 2025.

Top Schemes for Organic Farmers

Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) — The flagship scheme for organic farming in India. Provides ₹50,000 per hectare over 3 years for soil testing, organic certification, training, inputs, and market linkages. Available to farmer groups of 50+ members. Apply through your state's Agriculture Department or KVK.

PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) — ₹6,000 per year in three instalments, transferred directly to the farmer's bank account. Available to all small and marginal farmers with landholding up to 2 hectares. Registration is simple at pmkisan.gov.in or through your nearest CSC centre.

eNAM (Electronic National Agriculture Market) — A digital trading platform that connects farmers directly to buyers across India, eliminating the need for multiple middlemen. Registered farmers can list and sell their produce online, accessing prices from 1,000+ markets across 22 states. Registration is free at enam.gov.in.

NABARD Organic Farming Loan — Collateral-free loans up to ₹10 lakh at subsidised interest rates (2–4% effective rate after subvention) for transitioning to organic farming. Available through cooperative banks and RRBs linked to NABARD. Farm credit cards (KCC) can also be converted to cover organic input costs.

Mission Organic Value Chain Development (MOVCD-NE) — Specifically for farmers in northeastern India, providing ₹25,000 per farmer for three years, including certification support and market linkage.
